The Johan de Witt Scholengroep is a community school. This means that you can also take lessons and continue learning outside normal school hours.

During the summer holidays, the Johan de Witt opens its doors to students from secondary education, ISK and to primary school students from groups 6, 7 and 8. All students from pre-vocational secondary education to pre-university education are welcome. This year's Summer School takes place at the following times:

  • Monday August 12 to Thursday August 15
  • Monday August 19 to Thursday August 22

Students can register for one of the two blocks:

  • Block 1: 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM
  • Block 2: 12.15 to 15.00

All students work on the core subjects of Dutch, arithmetic and English. You will receive guidance from experienced tutors. There is also an activity every day and something to eat. Teaching materials are provided by us.

Saturday school

Saturday school 2024-2025

In addition to students from the Johan de Witt School Group, students from other secondary schools are also welcome at the Saturday School. We also offer a special program for students in groups 6, 7 and 8 of primary school.

Secondary school students

You can go to the Saturday School if you need some extra help with certain subjects. You can work on subjects that you find difficult under the guidance of experienced tutors. In addition, we will work on planning and organizing and learning to learn. This way you not only get help with the subjects that you find difficult, but you also learn how to learn best!

In the upper grades, the focus is more on taking responsibility for your learning process. The tutors are mainly there to answer your questions and explain the material. This way you will be optimally prepared for your tests!

Students from groups 6, 7 and 8 of primary school

These students are taught the subjects in small groups; Dutch, English, arithmetic and mathematics. We make a start with study skills with the students from group 8 so that the transition to secondary education runs smoothly.

The Saturday School is:

  • Every Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM (except during school holidays)
  • Attention to Dutch, English, Mathematics, arithmetic and study skills
  • Lesson in small groups
  • Guidance from an experienced tutor
  • Participation is free but not without obligation
